In recent years, a number of companies manufacturing electric vehicles are actively working on the creation of single-seat models. The goal is maximum maneuverability in city conditions. But many of them are thinking about how will look like an electric car with the significant capacity.
Working in Dusseldorf, the iEV 1 team recently demonstrated its own version of a small electric vehicle, called iEV X. It manages to change its dimensions taking into account the changing needs of the owners. For example, if a second passenger appears or you need to transport a bulky cargo.
The dimensions of the single modification are 78 x 160 centimeters. If the load increases, the special sliding mechanism increases the parameters to 190 and 220 centimeters, respectively. The second seat behind it is folded, while the sides remain open.
According to the project, the base model weighs 115 kilograms. It was equipped with a lithium-ion battery of 48 volts. It is designed for a run of 60 kilometers at an auto speed of 45 kilometers per hour. During parking, the battery is charged from a 40-watt solar panel.
The performance of the iEV X + model is higher. Its weight is 145 kilograms, the battery is 72 volts. The mileage was increased to 120 kilometers, the speed to 60 kilometers per hour. The solar panel has 60 watts.
In novelty want supplement the robotic automatic charging system. And also the pedals that control the power of the batteries. There are additional functions: a wide-angle rear view camera, side water-repellent mirrors, a 7-inch touch screen, LED lighting system, steel chassis, aluminum body panels.
